In Mac OS X (and basically anywhere that uses xterms), to put the scrollbar on the RIGHT side of the terminal, instead of the default left side, add the following to ~/.Xresources.

xterm.vt100.RightScrollBar:  true
xterm.vt100.ScrollBar:         true
